HISTORY

 

August 12th, 2019 kicked off a series of events that lead to the founding of Local Tire Storage in Omaha, NE.  Liz was hit by a large truck in her Toyota Sienna and the car was deemed a total loss. By the grace of God she was alone in the car and there were no serious injuries.  Alas the process of finding a new vehicle began. She was aware of a van new to the market after riding in one as a hotel shuttle in California.  

 

The family couldn’t resist the safety and comfort of the Mercedes Metris for their new family car.  The one drawback, its rear wheel drive and would require winter tires to get around.  Liz thought…“No Problem, I’ll pay the dealership to store the set not in use”.

 

Well, she was wrong!  And after a day of phone calls she soon discovered this was not a service offered in the area.  It was then that Liz and Tim set off to solve this problem for all!  After getting more into the details and research they were surprised to find out that this business would soon become rooted in safety and education.  

 

People in Nebraska buy snow tires if they have a small rear wheel drive vehicle or a SWEET RWD Van.  What they don’t realize is that we would all be safer with more winter tires on the road!  Even an AWD cars going as slow as 30 miles per hour snow tires stop 5 feet faster than all-seasons and when you increase the speed to 60 miles per hour that distance increases to 27 feet.  So here the journey begins.
